August’s Monthly Blog Roundup

It’s the end of another busy month, and so it’s time for August’s monthly blog roundup. I started these blog roundups last month as a way to help you catch up on anything that you might have missed. But, I’ve actually found writing them hugely helpful myself. It’s a great way for me to look back at some of the topics I’ve covered, and it’s certainly helped me to come up with some interesting topics for the coming months.

August is a busy month for everyone (me included!) and so you might have missed a blog or two. You might have headed off on holiday, or you might have taken time off for childcare during the school break. You might simply like to slow things down a lot in August, and enjoy a slower pace for a few weeks. I don’t blame you. If you were lucky, business was busier than ever and you simply didn’t have time to keep up to date with my ramblings. That’s okay, as this blog roundup will get you caught up with everything.

Blog Roundup: A Month for Mindfulness, Mental Health and Entrepreneurship

As is the case with a lot of months, the blog definitely focused on a handful of key themes. This wasn’t intentional on my part. I guess my writing tends to follow what I’m thinking about and doing at the time. July was a month centred on business growth and success, but August focused on completely different themes. I thought picking one blog for each key theme would be a good way to roundup the month, so here we go.

Mindfulness

Why Mindfulness is More Than Just a Trend

I know mindfulness isn’t for everyone, but it’s certainly here to stay. In this blog, I took a look at mindfulness as being more than just a trend. It’s certainly grown in popularity recently and this has made a lot of people assume it’s yet another trend, one that’s going to pass sooner rather than later. But, there are a lot of benefits to mindfulness. I can’t see it going anywhere.

Mindfulness is a technique which involves paying attention to what is happening in the present moment, and doing so without judgement. It involves focusing your attention on what’s happening at that exact moment in time. It means not worrying about anything outside of that moment. It’s something I find hugely beneficial when life starts to feel too busy or stressful, and it’s actually been proven to boost productivity.

Mental Health

Treatment Options for Complex PTSD

I have spoken a lot about my struggles with complex PTSD in the past, and this blog took a deep dive into the various treatment options available. As complex PTSD affects people in different ways, there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ treatment available. It’s often a case of trial and error, and seeing what works for you.

As the name suggests, complex PTSD is anything but straightforward. This can make a lot of people assume that help is out of the question. Though there isn’t a dedicated cure for complex PTSD, there are a variety of techniques that can help you to manage its symptoms. It’s a great blog if you want to find out more about treating complex PTSD with medication and self-help strategies.

Entrepreneurship

Why Entrepreneurship is Not For Everyone

Unsurprisingly, I am a big fan of entrepreneurship. It’s what I dedicate my life to. I enjoy owning businesses, helping businesses and being involved in business innovation. However, that’s not to say that I think entrepreneurship is something that everyone should have a go at. As you will see in this blog, entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone.

What Will September’s Blog Roundup Bring?

What topics would you like me to cover in September? Do you have any business questions that need answering?
