Advocacy

Scott Dylan’s advocacy is rooted in empathy, experience, and the belief that lasting change begins with honesty. Through his work in prison reform, mental health, philanthropy, and policy influence, he aims to create systems that treat people with dignity — not judgement.

A Voice for Change

Scott Dylan is more than an entrepreneur — he is a campaigner for compassion and accountability. His advocacy work spans some of society’s most overlooked areas: the treatment of civil prisoners, the stigma around mental illness, and the urgent need for community investment.

These efforts are not abstract ideals but lived realities shaped by his own journey through trauma, recovery, and resilience. Having experienced the justice system first-hand as a civil prisoner, Scott understands both the human cost of institutional failure and the transformative power of genuine reform.

“We can’t build a better world if we keep punishing people for being broken.”
Scott Dylan

Explore the Advocacy Work

Scott’s advocacy intersects across four areas. Each represents a distinct commitment, but together they form a unified vision for a fairer, more empathetic society.

Inside Out Justice

Reforming outdated civil imprisonment laws and promoting rehabilitation through dignity. A campaign born from lived experience of the UK justice system.

Mental Health Advocacy

Championing open dialogue and trauma-informed support. Drawing on personal experience of Complex PTSD, anxiety, and depression to challenge stigma.

Philanthropy & Community

Empowering local communities through compassion-driven giving. From community centres to grassroots mental health programmes, investing in people.

Policy Submissions & Open Letters

Influencing meaningful reform through evidence-based recommendations, open letters to policymakers, and contributions to public consultations.

Reforming Systems, Rebuilding Lives

From speaking out on the failings of civil imprisonment to challenging the lack of mental health care within the justice system, Scott’s focus is on humanising institutions. Through Inside Out Justice, he campaigns for a justice system that heals rather than harms and a society where support replaces stigma.

Mental Health Without Stigma

Having lived with Complex PTSD, severe anxiety, and depression, Scott speaks openly about mental health in professional and public life. He trained as a Samaritan and uses his platform to promote compassionate leadership and trauma-informed support. His advocacy calls for workplaces, institutions, and communities to treat mental health with the same seriousness as physical health.

Community at the Core

Scott Dylan’s philanthropy demonstrates how targeted acts of giving can create profound change. Together with his family, he made a major donation to The Beehive Community Centre in Honiton, Devon, in memory of his late aunt Wendy Woodcombe — enabling the centre to reopen after the COVID-19 lockdowns and restoring vital local services.

Policy That Reflects Humanity

Scott contributes to policy consultations, open letters, and reform proposals addressing mental health, civil imprisonment, and ethical leadership. He is currently writing a book on prison and justice reform, alongside essays on the ethics of technology and mental health in prisons.
