Scott Dylan contributes to public policy through open letters, formal submissions, and written advocacy addressing mental health, civil imprisonment, ethical leadership, and social reform. This page serves as a public record of those contributions.
Why This Matters
Policy reform does not happen in isolation. It requires persistent, evidence-based engagement with lawmakers, regulators, and public institutions. Scott believes that those with lived experience of systemic failure have a responsibility to speak up — not just to criticise, but to propose workable alternatives.
Through formal submissions to government consultations, open letters to policymakers, and public commentary on proposed legislation, Scott aims to bridge the gap between institutional policy and human reality.
Every submission and letter published here is grounded in lived experience, evidence, and a commitment to humane reform. These are not abstract positions — they reflect what Scott has seen, experienced, and believes must change.
Areas of Policy Focus
Submissions addressing the treatment of civil prisoners, early-release exclusions, and the need for distinct legal pathways for non-criminal detention.
Advocacy for improved mental health provision in prisons, workplaces, and public services — including mandatory assessments and trauma-informed care standards.
Open letters on corporate governance, responsible AI development, and the obligation of leaders to prioritise people alongside profit.
Broader policy engagement on rehabilitation, community investment, and building institutions that reflect compassion rather than convenience.

“If those who have experienced the failings of a system do not speak, nothing changes. Silence is complicity.”
— Scott Dylan
A Book in Progress
Scott is currently writing a book on prison and justice reform, drawing on personal testimony and systemic analysis to make the case for legislative change. Alongside the book, he is producing essays on the ethics of technology, mental health in prisons, and the intersection of business leadership with social responsibility.
These written works will inform future policy submissions and public advocacy.
